Bakken Shale Rig Count

The Bakken-Three Forks rig count increased by one this week, with Baker Hughes reporting 43 rigs running across our coverage area by midday Friday.

In recent Bakken Shale news, North Dakota taxpayers must foot the bill for nearly $40 million from the protests over the Dakota Access Pipeline.

A total of 847 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, an increase of eight over than last week. 163 rigs targeted natural gas (three less than the previous week) and 683 were targeting oil in the U.S. (11 more than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.)  43 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in North Dakota.

Bakken Oil & Gas Rigs

Bakken oil rigs were at 43 this week with Bloomberg reporting WTI oil prices increasing to $53.18 on Friday afternoon. The Bakken has zero natural active gas rig in the area this week with futures trading at $3.23/mmbtu by midday.

Bakken Rig Count Stalls at 42; U.S. Gains 15

The Bakken-Three Forks rig count didn't budge this week, with Baker Hughes reporting 42 rigs running across our coverage area by midday Friday.

In recent Bakken Shale news, Whiting Petroleum plans to spend $580 million is for activity in the Williston Basin, including running five rigs in the region.

A total of 839 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, an increase of 15 over than last week. 165 rigs targeted natural gas (five more than the previous week) and 672 were targeting oil in the U.S. (10 more than the previous week). Bakken Shale Rig Count Bounces Around

The Bakken-Three Forks rig count continues to bounce around and landed lower this week. Baker Hughes reporting 42 rigs running across our coverage area by midday Friday.

In recent Bakken Shale news, President Donald Trump formally resurrected the Keystone XL Pipeline by granting a permit for construction to continue and offering help to speed the process. This marks a reversal from the previous administration, when Barak Obama worked to block the controversial pipeline.

A total of 824 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, an increase of 15 over than last week. 160 rigs targeted natural gas (five more than the previous week) and 662 were targeting oil in the U.S. (10 more than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.)  42 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in North Dakota.

The Bakken-Three Forks rig count gained one this week, with Baker Hughes reporting 43 rigs running across our coverage area by midday Friday.

A total of 809 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, an increase of 20 over than last week. 155 rigs targeted natural gas (two less than the previous week) and 652 were targeting oil in the U.S. (21 more than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.)  43 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in North Dakota.

Bakken oil rigs were at 43 this week with Bloomberg reporting WTI oil prices rising to $48.07 on Friday afternoon. The Bakken has zero natural active gas rig in the area this week with futures trading at $3.08/mmbtu by midday.

Bakken Rig Count Jumps to 42

The Bakken-Three Forks rig count jumped by 4 this week, with Baker Hughes reporting 42 rigs running across our coverage area by midday Friday.

In recent Bakken news, Northern executives announced a 2017 capital budget of $102.2 million. The company will drill 12 new wells in the Bakken Shale during 2017 and expects total annual production to equal or exceed 2016.
