Bakken Rig Count Falls to 61
The Bakken-Three Forks rig count fell this week with 61 rigs running across our coverage area by end of the week on Friday.
In recent Bakken news, Samson Resources and American Eagle Energy plan to sell off their Bakken assets in order to pay back what they owe as part of a restructuring under Chapter 11.

A total of 744 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week. 189 were targeting natural gas (four less than the previous week) and 555 were targeting oil in the U.S. (nine less than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.)61are in ND alone.
Bakken Oil & Gas Rigs
The Bakken oil rigs were at 61 this week with Bloomberg reporting WTI oil prices trading at $41.71 on Friday afternoon. WTI-Brent decreased $.37landing at $44.86. The Bakken has zero natural active gas rig in the area this week with futures increasing slightly to $2.21/mmbtu by midday.
