The Bakken-Three Forks rig count decreased this week to 68 rigs running across our coverage area.

In recent Bakken news, U.S. District Court Judge Scott W. Skavdahl delayed the new federal fracking rule, which was to go into effect last week. The permitting of oil and gas wells on federal land will proceed under current regulations until July 22nd.

The U.S. rig count decreased by six, ending with 857 rigs running by midday Friday.  A total of 218 rigs were targeting natural gas (one more than the previous week) and 638 were targeting oil in the U.S. (seven less than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.)68 are in ND alone.

Bakken Oil & Gas Rigs

The Bakken oil rigs decreased to 68 rigs this week with Bloomberg reporting WTI oil prices trading at $50.85/bbl on Friday afternoon, a $1.89 decrease from the previous week. WTI-Brent decreased $1.62 landing to $57.11. The Bakken has zero natural active gas rig in the area this week with futures increasing to $2.88/mmbtu by midday.

The Bakken-Three Forks rig count decreased this week to 70 rigs running across our coverage area.

In recent Bakken news, Montana’s  Board of Oil and Gas Conservation is considering a proposal that will require buffers zones around homes to protect them from oil and gas drilling.

The U.S. rig count increased slightly, ending with 863 rigs running by midday Friday.  A total of 217 rigs were targeting natural gas (two less than the previous week) and 645 were targeting oil in the U.S. (five more than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.)70 are in ND alone.

The Bakken oil rigs decreased to 69 rigs this week with Bloomberg reporting WTI oil prices trading at $52.74/bbl on Friday afternoon, a $3.98 decrease from the previous week. WTI-Brent decreased $3.12 landing to $58.73. The Bakken has zero natural active gas rig in the area this week with futures increasing to $2.77/mmbtu by midday.

The U.S. rig count increased slightly, ending with 862 rigs running by midday Thursday.  A total of 219 rigs were targeting natural gas (nine less than the previous week) and 640 were targeting oil in the U.S. (12 more than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.)76 are in ND alone.

The Bakken oil rigs increased to 75 rigs this week with Bloomberg reporting WTI oil prices trading at $56.72/bbl on Friday morning, a $2.91 decrease from the previous week. WTI-Brent decreased $1.41 landing to $61.85. The Bakken has zero natural active gas rig in the area this week with futures dropping to $2.71/mmbtu.

In recent Bakken news, Energy Transfer Pipeline is moving forward with plans to build a massive 1.134 mile pipeline that will transport crude from the Bakken through South Dakota and into Patoka, Illinois amid public concerns.

The U.S. rig count increased slightly, ending with 859 rigs running by midday Friday.  A total of 228 rigs were targeting natural gas (five more the previous week) and 628 were targeting oil in the U.S. (three less than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.)74 are in ND alone.

The Bakken oil rigs fell to 73 rigs this week with Bloomberg reporting WTI oil prices trading at $59.63/bbl on Friday afternoon, a $.02 decrease from the previous week. WTI-Brent increased $.24 landing to $63.26. The Bakken has zero natural active gas rig in the area this week with futures dropping to $2.77/mmbtu by midday.

In recent Bakken news,OPEC announced last they will stick with their policy to produce oil at a high rate, a measure that may signal they are underestimating Bakken producers.

The U.S. rig count slowed its decline this week falling by two to 857 rigs running by midday Friday.  A total of 223 rigs were targeting natural gas (dtwo more than the previous week) and 631 were targeting oil in the U.S. (four less than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.)76 rigs are running in the Williston Basin across MT, ND, and SD. 76 are in ND alone.

Bakken Oil & Gas Rigs

The Bakken oil rigs stayed at 75 rigs this week with Bloomberg reporting WTI oil prices trading at $59.61/bbl on Friday afternoon, an $.37 decrease from the previous week. WTI-Brent fell $.67 landing to $63.02. The Bakken has zero natural active gas rig in the area this week with futures increasing to $2.82/mmbtu by midday.
