Bakken Shale Clings to 26 Rigs

Bakken Rig Count Remains Steady

The Bakken-Three Forks rig count remained flat this week with 26 rigs running across our coverage area by midday Friday.

A total of 419 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, down 12 from last week. 87 were targeting natural gas (one less than the previous week) and 332 were targeting oil in the U.S. (11 less than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.)26 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in North Dakota.

Bakken Oil & Gas Rigs

The Bakken oil rigs hels steady at 26 this week with Bloomberg reporting WTI oil prices climbing to $45.92 on Friday afternoon. WTI-Brent also increased this week to $47.37.  The Bakken has zero natural active gas rig in the area this week with futures increasing  to $2.18/mmbtu by midday.

The Bakken-Three Forks rig count remained flat this week with 26 rigs running across our coverage area by midday Friday.

A total of 431 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, down one from last week. 88 were targeting natural gas (seven more than the previous week) and 343 were targeting oil in the U.S. (eight less than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.)26 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in North Dakota.

Bakken Oil & Gas Rigs

The Bakken oil rigs were at 26 this week with Bloomberg reporting WTI oil prices climbing to $43.73 on Friday afternoon. WTI-Brent increased this week to $45.11.  The Bakken has zero natural active gas rig in the area this week with futures increasing  to $2.14/mmbtu by midday.

The Bakken-Three Forks rig count fell by one this week landing at 26 rigs running across our coverage area by midday Friday.

A total of 432 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, which is a drop of 11 over last week. 81 were targeting natural gas (eight more than the previous week) and 351 were targeting oil in the U.S. (three less than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.)26 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in North Dakota.

Bakken Oil & Gas Rigs

The Bakken oil rigs were at 26 this week with Bloomberg reporting WTI oil prices trading at $40.36 on Friday afternoon. WTI-Brent increased this week to $43.10.  The Bakken has zero natural active gas rig in the area this week with futures decreasing  to $1.90/mmbtu by midday.

The Bakken-Three Forks rig count fell by four this week landing at 48 rigs running across our coverage area by midday Friday.

A total of 664 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week.148 were targeting natural gas (14 less than the previous week) and 516 were targeting oil in the U.S. (20 less than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.) 48are in ND alone.

Bakken Oil & Gas Rigs

The Bakken oil rigs were at 48 this week with Bloomberg reporting WTI oil prices trading at $33.16 on Friday afternoon. WTI-Brent decreased $4.18landing at $33.55.  The Bakken has zero natural active gas rig in the area this week with futures increasing to $2.47/mmbtu by midday.

Due to the holiday, we are releasing the weekly rig count post early.

The Bakken-Three Forks rig count fell by three this week landing at 54 rigs running across our coverage area by midday Thursday.

A total of 698 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week. 162 were targeting natural gas (same as the previous week) and 536 were targeting oil in the U.S. (two less than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.) 52are in ND alone.

Bakken Oil & Gas Rigs

The Bakken oil rigs were at 52 this week with Bloomberg reporting WTI oil prices trading at $37.47 on Friday afternoon. WTI-Brent increased $.42landing at $37.73 The Bakken has zero natural active gas rig in the area this week with futures increasing to $2.33/mmbtu by midday.
