Bakken Shale Play Loses Another Rig

The Bakken-Three Forks rig count slipped backwards this week, with Baker Hughes reporting 45 rigs running through our coverage area by Friday midday.

A total of 936 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week. 189 rigs were targeting natural gas (+2) and 747 were targeting oil (-5) in the U.S. The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.) 44 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in North Dakota.

Bakken Oil & Gas Rigs

45 rigs targeted oil in the Bakken this week with Bloomberg reporting WTI oil prices at $63.37 on Friday afternoon. The Bakken has zero natural active gas rig in the area this week with commodity futures trading at $3.19/mmbtu by midday.

Bakken Shale Rig Count at 46; WTI on the Rise

The Bakken-Three Forks rig count didn't move this week, with Baker Hughes reporting 46 rigs running through our coverage area by Friday midday.

A total of 939 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week. 187 rigs were targeting natural gas (+5) and 752 were targeting oil (+10) in the U.S.. The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.)  45 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in North Dakota.

46 rigs targeted oil in the Bakken this week with Bloomberg reporting WTI oil prices at $64.30 on Friday afternoon. The Bakken has zero natural active gas rig in the area this week with commodity futures trading at $3.20/mmbtu by midday.

The Bakken-Three Forks rig count saw gains with week, with Baker Hughes reporting 48 rigs running through our coverage area by Friday midday. The total number of drilling rigs across the country continues to increase slowly.  

A total of 929 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, eight more than last week. 180 rigs were targeting natural gas (+4) and 749 were targeting oil in the U.S. (+2). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.) 47 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in North Dakota.

48 rigs targeted oil in the Bakken this week with Bloomberg reporting WTI oil prices at $58.36 on Friday afternoon. The Bakken has zero natural active gas rig in the area this week with commodity futures trading at $3.06/mmbtu by midday.

A total of 915 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, eight more than last week. 177 rigs were targeting natural gas (+8) and 738 were targeting oil in the U.S. (+0). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.) 47 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in North Dakota.
