Oil & Gas Rigs Decrease Across the Country; Bakken Unchanged

The Bakken-Three Forks rig count gained was unchanged this week with Baker Hughes reporting 51 rigs running through our coverage area by Friday midday.

A total of 913 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, 15 less than last week. 177 rigs were targeting natural gas (- 8) and 736 were targeting oil in the U.S. (-7). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.)   51 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in North Dakota.

Bakken Oil & Gas Rigs

51 rigs targeted oil in the Bakken this week with Bloomberg reporting WTI oil prices at $51.84 on Friday afternoon. The Bakken has zero natural active gas rig in the area this week with commodity futures trading at $2.92/mmbtu by midday.

Bakken Shale Rig Count Bumps Up

The Bakken-Three Forks rig count gained one this week with Baker Hughes reporting 51 rigs running through our coverage area by Friday midday.

A total of 928 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, eight less than last week. 185 rigs were targeting natural gas (- 2) and 743 were targeting oil in the U.S. (-5). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.)  51 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in North Dakota.

The Bakken-Three Forks rig count fell back this week, with Baker Hughes reporting 52 rigs running through our coverage area by Friday midday.

Whiting Sells Bakken Assets for $500 Million

A total of 944 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, four more over last two weeks. 187 rigs targeted natural gas ( an increase of seven) and 756 were targeting oil in the U.S. (decreased by three). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.) 52 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in North Dakota.

A total of 946 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, three less than last week. 182 rigs targeted natural gas (one more than the previous week) and 763 were targeting oil in the U.S. (five less than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.)   51 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in North Dakota.

 Bakken-Three Forks rig count slips this week, with Baker Hughes reporting 53 rigs running through our coverage area by Friday midday.
