Bakken Rig Count Stalls at 52

The Bakken-Three Forks rig count remains the same for the third week in a row this week, with Baker Hughes reporting 52 rigs running through our coverage area by Friday midday.

In recent shale news, the University of Chicago’s Energy Policy Institute is reporting the economic benefits of fracking on local economies outweigh undesirable side effects.

A total of 952 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, a decrease of one over last week. 189 rigs targeted natural gas (five more than the previous week) and763 were targeting oil in the U.S. (seven more than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.) 52 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in North Dakota.

Bakken Oil & Gas Rigs

Bakken oil rigs were at 52 this week with Bloomberg reporting WTI oil prices at $44.23 on Friday afternoon. The Bakken has zero natural active gas rig in the area this week with futures trading at $2.86/mmbtu by midday.

The Bakken-Three Forks rig count slowed this week, with Baker Hughes reporting 52 rigs running through our coverage area by Friday midday.

A total of 940 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, a decrease of one over last week. 184 rigs targeted natural gas (one more than the previous week) and 756 were targeting oil in the U.S. (two less than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.) 52 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in North Dakota.

The Bakken-Three Forks rig count continued to rise this week, with Baker Hughes reporting 52 rigs running through our coverage area by Friday midday.

A total of 941 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, an increase of eight over last week. 183 rigs targeted natural gas (three less than the previous week) and 758 were targeting oil in the U.S. (11 more than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.) 52 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in North Dakota.

Bakken oil rigs were at 52 this week with Bloomberg reporting WTI oil prices at $43.01 on Friday afternoon. The Bakken has zero natural active gas rig in the area this week with futures trading at $2.93/mmbtu by midday.

The Bakken-Three Forks rig count jumped this week by three, with Baker Hughes reporting 49 rigs running through our coverage area by Friday midday.

In recent Bakken News, the U.S. Census Bureau is reporting that every county in the Bakken Shale region experienced a decrease in population between 2015 and 2016.

A total of 933 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, an increase of six over last week. 186 rigs targeted natural gas (one more than the previous week) and 747 were targeting oil in the U.S. (six more than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.) 49 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in North Dakota.

The rig count across the U.S. continues to increase as 11 more rigs were brought online this week. The Bakken-Three Forks rig count remained steady with Baker Hughes reporting 46 rigs running through our coverage area by Friday midday.

In recent Bakken News, Energy Transfer Partners, L.P. has announced that the Dakota Access Pipeline is now pumping Bakken crude oil.

A total of 927 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, an increase of 11 over last week. 185 rigs targeted natural gas (three more than the previous week) and 741 were targeting oil in the U.S. (eight more than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.) 46 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in North Dakota.
