Enbridge has completed its latest Bakken pipeline expansion. The project reversed and expanded a pipeline running from Steelman, Saskatchewan, to Berthold, North Dakota.
The project provided 145,000 b/d of pipeline capacity north to Enbridge's mainline crude system. From the mainline, crude can access multiple markets including those in the midwest. The project was supported by firm take or pay commitments of 100,000 b/d.
"We are pleased to bring this project into service on schedule and under budget," said Mark Maki, President of the Partnership. "By leveraging our extensive existing operations in the area, we were able to effectively respond to the needs of our customers and provide economical and attractive transportation takeaway options."
The latest expansion was the third in the past five years for Enbridge in the Bakken.
